Gemini 26° (June 16)

Difficult morning. All info from lawyer. Moving forward: This might be an easy one (for any other sign but you that is): As clever as being born under Mercury-ruled Gemini can make you, it’s none too cinchy to slow up that quicksilver mind of yours, never mind still it. You are the original spin doctor and, as such, you have a way of stretching the truth if not abandoning it all together. You also have a habit of rationalizing behavior, the ends justifying your means. So, here is your challenge, one which you might attempt to sustain, first, for let’s say just an hour: You are going to avoid doing, saying or even thinking anything negative (and yes even white lies are considered as such). The doing and even the saying might seem simple enough, but it’s the stinkin’ thinkin’ you’ll have the hardest time monitoring, let alone eradicating. Of course, this all works by the honor system. As you’re reading this you might be like “easy peasy,” and in truth you may be able to keep yourself from entertaining negative thoughts about other people, places and things—although that is truly doubtful at first—the real kicker, you might be surprised to discover, is how many negative thoughts pass through your noggin that are directed at you. Have you heard yourself think? You can be quite hard on you, sometimes downright abusive. So maybe you can start with just an hour in the morning before your mind begins racing, and little by little you’ll extend this; obviously there needn’t be any limit on this exercise because, well, it would be phenomenal if you could live a life completely devoid of negative thoughts, words and deeds. On route to that improbable possibility, though, the leading goal here is to stop treating your psyche like a punching bag, and, in so doing, realize that the negative messaging you may be sending/giving are parroted bits of abuse that others from your past may’ve visited upon you. The desired outcome, thus, in the process, is to develop some compassion for numero uno, which is the quickest way of curing you of laying negative trips on others.
