Rocky morning but soon smooths out. Deep into the book now and S. has begun reading drafts and they will be approved which is great. I will make a love chicory salad with roasted garlic dressing, pear, walnut and Roquefort. We are celebrating a bit tonight…woo hoo. Watching Girls5Eva and Talia and John and their son Harry who is magic make an appearance. So sweet.  And now on with the writing: Rarely a party girl, the majority of Virgos being moderate when it comes to intoxicants, she is nonetheless social and fun-loving, her notorious form of indulgence being food in general, and sweets specifically. Many women of the sign can become obsessed with their weight which they tend to carry in the lower bodies. No matter her shape Virgo woman carries herself gracefully, with a mesmerizing sway to her walk, and an ability to sail through the most crowded of rooms. Her voice is generally calming and, even when delivering one of her many jokes, which come naturally, she will do so deadpan, staring blankly while other dissolve into laughter. Though she will have a series of close female friends on whom she will imprint, style-wise, Virgo tends to prefer the company of, typically, gay men whom she draws on for cultural influences and in whose company there is no temptation to fall in love—this is true of Virgo woman, no matter her sexual or gender identity. On some level, she knows that she can sometimes blur the lines between platonic and romantic partnerships. Remarkably, many a Virgo woman’s mother is also born under the sign—obviously it’s not always the case, but it nonetheless occurs with an inexplicable regularity, adding to the whole my-mother-myself dynamic endemic to the sign’s experience. As a parent herself, Virgo can be rather nervous and overprotective and quite often she is a single parent whose partner turns out to be unreliable and inattentive. As a single mother, Virgo can be quite the helicopter, especially should the child have even the mildest affliction like allergies or meager learning disabilities. She will see herself as a supermom and can become somewhat martyred on that score. In the case that the marriage or romantic bond remains secure, Virgo may delegate much of the functional parenting to her partner and be practically hands-off, but emotionally still over-hover.
