Taurus 3° (April 23)

Woke up sick as a dog. I never puke but omgrrrr. Even the tiniest sips of water resulted in running to the loo within minutes. Was the strangest thing. Obviously can’t eat and had to cancel my entire workday. Scary. There were about six hours there where I thought this is never going to stop. I really thought I had some kind of permanent condition where anything I put in my mouth wouldn’t stay down. Giant stainless steel bowl bedside. This is gruesome. Then miraculously it subsided. I lost about five lbs. in just a day—how is that even possible? I am going to binge watch a Swedish program called The Restaurant (ironic that I would watch a show with so much food in it). I’m starving but I don’t dare put any food in this stomach. Anyway, I can jot down a few notes: The personal evolutionary path of the Taurus woman is one of remaining present, progressing moment to moment, playing a good ground game, leaving no stone unturned, trusting in the cumulative power of one’s efforts, focusing on the work at hand, maybe whistling all the while, and allowing it to work its magic on you. If the Taurus lad is the gardener of the zodiac, then you, Taurus lady, are the metaphoric garden itself. Neither gardens, nor the surrounding walls which define them—those natural defenses we’ve already done discussed—are ready-made things, nor should they be. That which you possess, Taurus, must be earned, even, indeed especially, the soaring talents with which you entered this world.

Taurus 2° (April 22)

Today is going to be a day of focusing on what I can no longer tolerate. Who knew I had standards? But I guess I do. I am surely feeling overwhelmed and I won’t realize until later how this is beginning to affect me, physically. Anyway, there are more cosmic things to talk about: Being endemic to his sign in any case, the theme of objectification can carry over into a sort of self-form as he matures—in the straight Taurus, this may manifest in his identifying as an aptly named Bull type, that is to say a so-called superior male specimen who derives pleasure from stepping in to engage in sexual activity with a woman who is left wanting by her husband or male partner, the cuckhold figure, considered, by all in the mix, to be the lesser male figure. It might seem we made an quick, sharp turn into a sexual place, here, and we did; but it helps to illustrate a more sweeping point: Taking on this sexual persona is an extreme, vivid manifestation of what, to some degree or other, the Taurus man would consider his role in the full sexual arena at large. He likes to be viewed as the premier “choice” beefcake in any erotic equation, just as he enjoys not only the genuflective worship it invites, but also even if just a hint of humiliation he might impose in the process.  On top of which, being the special guest star in such a scenario, he doesn’t have to deal with any relationship muss or fuss. It’s all a big rush for his ego, which is just one element of his personal self that requires fluffing. And, in this analysis, we might infer that his need to play, at once so detached and yet dominant role, even if he does so affectionately, might indicate an underlying insecurity on the subject of his manhood. The irony being that Taurus tends to overemphasize and draw strength from his sense of physical prowess while it is in regard to his emotional state, particularly his ability to sustain a loving commitment, where he has the most difficulty manning up. A lifetime experience being appreciated for his appearance, if not his Adonis-like figure, and/or for the performative façade he has carefully cultivated year on year can add up to a feeling of emptiness that is all too easily exposed in intimate relationships. He might brush off this fact with a casual excuse that, well, you know me, I could never be satisfied with just one wo/man, turning what is a lack in his ability to invest deeply into an ironic point of pride in his roving bachelor status. Even in this, he might find a way to inspire envy in his friends, whom he may insinuate are whipped in their own relationships. In itself, this attitude is a form of degradation, but Taurus is prone to puff himself up by subtly putting others down, making them feel less-than. Such that the sense of self-aggrandizement the straight Taurus might gain in playing the Bull in an erotic setting is drawn, in equal parts, from providing a superlative sexual experience for the woman and a humiliating one for her husband, boyfriend or what have you. Again, we use this as an extreme example to illustrate more broad Taurus tendencies: Another being that he is not what you might consider aspirational in his relationships, should he enter into one—not all signs are—and for the very reason that this guy cannot easily cope with being outshone. He might take a backseat in decision making, deferring to a more imperious partner in most matters which he would readily delegate in any event, allowing them to shoulder the burdens of everyday life, providing him license to be that much more the divested, shiny object, steeling all the focus that he may. The Bull persona is surely the performative star of the sexual show and, though the other players are cast as so-called submissives, it is really they who call the shots, inviting him to make a cameo appearance, but disposing him at will. He might be the man on top in the immediate situation, but he is nonetheless the second banana (forgiving the pun) in the larger scheme of things. His is actually, in that sense, a passive role with a signature Taurus twist, and he might easily find it has one day been re-cast with a younger, stronger character. Just one of the many ways that life can feel for the Taurus like a race against time, his lifelong gazing into the looking glass morphing from sense of self-appreciation to dread of what the future holds, as one day mirror-mirror will provide a different answer to the daily proverbial question.

Taurus 1° (April 21)

Feeling a little bit more in the swing today but we shall see what the day brings. I have anxiety leaving the house alone even for a minute. I will run and out and get everything so that I needn’t leave the property today because, frankly, I don’t think it is safe to do so. Nobody can rob me of my peace—something I am reminded of and of which I must continually remind myself. I will reach out to friends whose birthdays are today and will know what’s what on those scores. I will talk to the lawyer and get some help in regard to filing restraining type order. I will also fail miserably to stick to my plan. The truth is I can’t continue to function they way I have been trying to all these years. I’m in a bad situation and that is the truth. I can’t say anymore here but I need to have a good long talk with myself. I pose myself the following question: how the effing cripes did you get here? How did you let yourself be taken so advantage of? This is a different kind of rock bottom I suppose. I’m neither motivated nor well enough for the situation methinks. But the world keeps turning and I have some book to astrology to write so here is some more on that:

And when it comes the Taurus man’s love life, too, we understand that he might not be as predatory as other guys on the astrological block, that he prefers to be the proverbial love object, which he should be, in keeping with his cosmic archetypes as the adored consort steeped in husbandry. But that doesn’t mean he needs to give himself to the highest bidder paying him compliments. A strong partner, even a dominant one is fine, as it allows Taurus man all the more dreamtime he desires, but he should (warning: cattle pun ahead) steer clear of the control freaks needing to make every decision. Real bulls are myopic; astrology’s Bulls are metaphorically so. Taurus must learn to see the red flags when they are being waved at him and be that much more self-determined. Letting Eve make key decisions in Eden didn’t necessarily end well. And when it comes to women, the straight Taurus man does have a way of inviting trouble. Being laidback is one thing, even a little laziness is good for the pulse rate, but an excess of passivity can be truly problematic. Taurus must learn to take the proverbial bull (that would be himself) by the horns, lest he find himself battered, especially in the arena of love. As the premier pacifist we understand you want to avoid conflict at all costs, but sometimes it costs you. There is an old Bugs Bunny cartoon in which there is a character, a so-called boxer named Ravishing Ronald, a Gorgeous George parody. He is a quintessentially Taurus figure, a vainglorious Adonis with long blond tresses tucked into a hairnet, who is carried into the ring on a dais by worshippers to meet his opponent, The Crusher, who ends up squeezing Ronald into said hairnet and using him as a punching bag. All too often Taurus will mistake drive and strength in a would-be significant other for what will reveal itself to be abuse extreme control and even abuse.

Taurus 0° (April 20)

Watched The Serpent. Didn’t get much sleep last night and doing one big catch up once again. Plus planning the menu. But I am officially into the Cancer man bit today so that feels good. FF has taken to be outside back as early as six-thirty which is when S. is visible in the kitchen. He is a predator. I hope he gets the book thrown at him. I forgot about Elliot Smith. I will want to listen to him tonight maybe. Should be an interesting next couple of days with S. going on the road until the weekend. I can only hope there will be no incidents to report. Now some more mythic thoughts on Aries: The kicker is she cloaks herself in the most primal, chthonian of female (Gaia) energy by getting under Pallas’ giant skin. In this way we see Athena drawing power from the feminine and the masculine fairly equally, in one sense, taking full license, covering all bases, no source of force to be denied her. We might also interpret his to mean that the goddess recognizes no distinction between the masculine and feminine principles, being the embodiment of the perfect blend thereof.  We are reminded of the Origin of Love song from the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the lyrics of which actually reference war with the giants and speak to a primordial time when the various sexes were all rolled into one. The name Hedwig, by the way, is pretty on brand, deriving from the Old High German Haduwig, that combines hadu, meaning “battle, combat” and wig, “fight, or duel.” Pallas also simply means “spear-toting.”And we venture to say that the Aries woman would be fairly down with this mythological rumination, and that these interpretations ring true on a soul level. Beneath her signature primitive good looks, often characterized by a jutting cave-womanly jawline and a thick, heavy brow, a hallmark of owly wisdom, many an Aries feels herself a mix of polarities, eschewing labels of sexual or gender identity, feeling very much beyond impositions of a binary. She simply is who she is, and she will waste little time in life trying to fit some societal mold. Aries can put on a fiercely sociable face, but she is at her core an intensely private person who generally leads an insular life with the person with whom she partners. Aries 29° (April 18-19)

Sunday we will speak to Hull realtor. Interesting but not really sure it’s for us. We need to get a vibe. I have changed tack and I’m going to write another page and a half of Aries woman today so I can send S. off with it. Then I will work through the start of Cancer man.  I need to write myself to freedom. Sunday we will have shrimps and leftover sole and on Monday a lovely chicory salad with Danish blue. There is much to do and it will happen. Here are some Aries woman thoughts: There is a seamless connection between personifying the primal, indeed primordial, feminine as Aries woman does and a certain element of what might be considered emasculation, from the masculine perspective, which in fact is only an expression of experiencing and embodying the feminine principle as the primary one in the universe. We said in the first section of this chapter that we were putting a pin in exploring yet another Pallas figure (there are several) in the Athena myth which lives in the hearts and minds of Aries women. One Pallas was a Gigantes(giant), one of the offspring of Gaia and the castrated Uranus, whom Athena slayed during the Gigantomachy, the great war between the giants and the Olympian gods for the supremacy of the universe. The war itself is interpreted by scholars as an extension of the existing battle of the sexes between Gaia (Mother Earth) and Uranus (Father Sky), thus the primal conflict between the feminine and masculine principles. The giant race is depicted with snake legs, having slithered out from their mother, the great war also symbolizing a conflict of the wormy, chaotic natural world and this new order of civilized intelligence represented by the new gods. Athena, who is elevated on this score, even among her fellow Olympians, as the personification of divine intelligence, civilization and moral fortitude, flays the snaky Pallas, a vivid symbolic act of emasculation, wearing his skin as her cloak, taking on more than his name. There is more than one reversal in all this: As emanations of Gaia, the giants represent the primordial female power, and the Olympians, led by the new sky god, Zeus, the masculine force in the cosmos. As the lead proponent of the latter, Athena is the primordial female in literally masculine form. She takes on the power of the masculine principle as an armor to her primal feminine force, not only slaying and flaying as she goes, but in the guise of a male god, besting them at their own game.

Raina will come by for some egg drop soup and to help us get the shower and hose back up and running. Working my way through the Cancer man chapter and coming up with a better draft moving forward. What doesnt it say that Athena takes on her name? She is the most irascible. What sign is the actress who plays Wonder Woman? I wish to say more about Lilith. Aries is the type of girl that could survive for 50 years on the tiniest trust fund. Along with psychology look to the sign quadrant also the sign glyph for inspiration. If he is most cut and dry she is most cut and run. Ewe is an animal form of the primordial goddess. sign glyph: we didn’t say it is her brow and wisdom. Nor have we discussed her as goddess of helmsmen. In the Bible Rachel is the holy Ewe.

Aries 27° (April 16)

I will be aggressed again just walking out my back door. I need to write a final page of Aries woman today and that’s what I’m going to do. Teasing and hot conversations during the day may make for foreplay. She does attract very possessive types on the same-sex front especially. Sidebar of all the Liliths which we already worked on. Asteroids in general associated with astrological signs. We said Paris didn’t pick her and it meant war. Aries 26° (April 15)

II have zero attention span today and as I type my skin looks tight and papery on my hands. I’m tired. I want off this merry-go-round, seriously. I need to stay on this side of the fence now for a while, I think. Also I think I’m pretty much over the usual suspects. There are new frontiers to embark upon and I am very much looking forward to doing just that. We once (and I mean once) worked with a director who inspired S.’s first ever panic attack during a “rehearsal” which for him meant talking at you for five hours at clip except when he excused himself for smoking breaks which, thankfully, was frequently. We had made a deal that he would direct one show and we would split whatever profit we made fifty-fifty, us and him. We rehearsed, and given his behavior, knowing this was a one-shot deal. We did the show. He came over for a “post mortem” after to the loft of a friend where we were staying. He said that he hoped it was okay that he told his “manager” to meet him there he said his name. It was someone we knew through a close friend and who had come to see our earliest shows in Manhattan, someone we thought we liked. So we said sure just have him come over. The door buzzed and we let the manager into the building and onto the elevator that opened into the loft. The director was sort of primping and the conversation we were having trailed off. When the ding of the elevator rang the director started acting. And he had a well-rehearsed script. As the elevator opened and we greeted the manager, the director jumped to his feet and acted like a director giving final notes and telling us all we needed to do moving forward. We were like…henh?

Aries 25° (April 14)

I feel uneasy today. I am doing my best. Filled in dates on when we saw which houses. It is just after eight o’clock and, if I can get through to nine, I can spend an hour on the male of the sign I’m working on today and then spend two hours before lunch on the female. From two to six today, I will spend that four hours reading tomorrow’s chapters, the edits of which I will get up early to enter such that I might have the afternoon off to collect my thoughts such as they are. Meanwhile I am up-to-date on finances which is always a good feeling. I am going to take another eight minutes to sit here and write this and then I will make some notes on where I am in the book. I do think it is possible that I am getting on a roll, here, today. I am extra on top of our lawyer to liaise with the other guy because, well, it was the other guy’s suggestion and secondly his client continues to act up, plus his guy is going on vacation next week and I am not going to live in this limbo for much longer. I am on the front lines with this, as with so many things, and it is time to move beyond this crap and, well, I also have an entire basement to pack up in the next few months. I am seriously hoping that we find a wonderful place nearby that we can call home for the forseeable future; one where I can slowly move my crap over and just do what I have to do. t’s starting to go better. i really now just need to write. I am slowly working my way into being at my desk by 5am when the world is quiet and the fairies are flitting about so that I can get some pages done before noon. once the world invades its very difficult. and the pressures, especially, of evil FF we are dealing with plus other stresses have yet to make their daily presence known. Oy. I will be tempted by the person who often blames me for excesses! But I’m just going to go with it. So much for the quiet evening of health food and an early tuck in. We are going to dance and party and I’ll make my conscious carbonara. We are agreed on the crazy going on in olde London towne at least. I always feel like such a negative Nancy about these sorts of things but truth be told people are getting seriously jangly. As jangly as a new wave guitar. The B52s

Got notice of virtual court date. I can only imagine how FF is going to handle that not to mention the pile of discoveries he has to contend with. We will go see a house at the end of the day. It will turn out to be the house that the woman who owned Phoenix owned (and perhaps died in). Not a pretty house and very sad and neglected feeling. Across the road a new house was being built for newlywed offspring of rich locals who already own here. This is the way of the world now. I made a chowder early in the day and it should last at least two meals. I planned out the entire week’s menu as is my custom (typically on Mondays but yesterday was a bit of a wash). I am getting back on top of things. I already feel better adhering to this new diet and I will want to keep it up now. There are no crutches left but for PBS. Been watching the Hemingway documentary and it is truly fascinating and so on brand for Cancer man it is unreal. I am looking to up my faith—I’m not really sure what that means but it makes sense to my soul when I say it. It is coming around to being our time again—this I feel. I have a particular bug up my bum: My rant continues on a variation: If your rich parents bought you more than one building, plus a business, in one of the most expensive places in the Unites States while you were still in your twenties can you PLEASE stop posting about the need for affordable housing. PIck another cause. Sheeeesh.  If someone were handed properties which they rent out weekly for skyhigh prices on AirBnB, etc. and only take up this cause for the sole, selfish reason of their “workers” not being able to live in town (sniff, sniff) I call bullshit. I have nothing more to say about that. Except its still all motivated by greed masquerading as empathy. I will post this on Facebook and the usual suspects will come gunning for me which is fine. I no longer care to be honest. It’s all so damned predictable. Sorry but it’s true. I just want to do my work today but I admit I’m hitting obstacles not a big deal but still there will be work to do on the other end and I’m going to have to reimagine this schedule of mine once again. So long as the bulk of it is being processed by deadline time I feel confident about things. I just do not want to travel I don’t think until everything is settled here. And I shouldn’t have to. I know what’s best for me and I have to advocate for that. It’s no fun to be dragging stress along on vacations and such. One can only do what one can do. And my needs have to come first or else it won’t be good for anyone.
